Endorail System is an innovative accessory for colonoscopy aimed to ensure endoscope safe, fast and easy progression in the large intestine. Endorail works as a magnetic anchor able to guide the colonoscope and to straighten colon curves and loops.
Endorail System is composed by:
1. disposable Magnetic Balloon Guide 2. disposable Endorail Ferrofluid Syringe 3. multiuse Magnetic Handpiece
Endorail Magnetic Balloon Guide can be introduced through the endoscope instrument channel during the colonoscopy if it becomes challenging, upon physician's decision, without the need to pre-mount it or interfere with the normal examination process. The device is advanced beyond the challenging segment of the colon, whereupon the balloon is filled with Endorail Ferrofluid to be magnetically anchored with Endorail Magnetic Handpiece. The colonoscope is then easily guided along the device beyond the challenging segment, while endoscope loops straighten. This sequence can be repeated several times as needed, allowing fast and safe inspection of the entire colon. Once the challenging segment of the colon is overcome or the colonoscopy is completed the Endorail Magnetic Balloon Guide can be removed.
Endorail System can also help to lower complications risk, sedation drug use and patient discomfort providing clear advantages for patient care and cost savings.
Endorail System is intended to ensure:
• Higher colonoscopy completion rate
• Lower need for general anesthesia
• Lower colonic walls stress
• Lower colonoscopy completion time
• Lower healthcare costs
• Lower colonoscopy learning curve
Endorail System is under development and is on its way to be tested in clinical setting. Risks, benefits and performance of Endorail System are currently under investigation. Our objective is to make it available on the EU market within the 2020.
